Liz received her BSN from Texas Woman’s University, and a Master’s in Nursing (Adult Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist) from the University of Kansas. Liz has more than 30 years of experience with clinical expertise in adult critical care. She is certified in Critical Care, Hospital Quality, and Patient Safety. In addition, she has expertise in program development with a focus on quality and outcomes management in a regulatory environment. In her spare time, she loves spending time with family, including her children and grandchildren; boating, camping, and riding motorcycles.

David-Paul Cavazos leads Republic County Hospital in Belleville, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital located near the northcentral state line. As its Chief Executive Officer, he oversees a medical staff that includes primary care physicians and specialists in obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, cardiology, radiology, pathology, ENT, physical therapies, respiratory, and urology. Among his priorities is to increase the hospital staff’s presence in the community throughout the year and to foster a patient-centric culture through a redefinition of physician-led care. Previously Mr. Cavazos was Chief Operating Officer at Southeast Kansas Mental Health Center in Iola. Before that he was Director of Medical Imaging Services Physician Recruitment at Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola. Mr. Cavazos holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Health, Health Care Administration, and Management from Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas.

Russ Johnson joined LMH Health (then called Lawrence Memorial Hospital) as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2016. With 30 years of successful senior leadership in hospitals and health systems, he previously served as Senior Vice President of Network Development and Outreach with the Centura Health System in Englewood, Colorado.

Mr. Johnson is active in many professional, civic and community organizations. He was a board member for the American Hospital Association for three years and served on regional councils and committees. In 2007 he was awarded the American Hospital Association’s Shirley Ann Munroe Leadership Award, which recognizes a small or rural hospital leader who has improved health care delivery in their communities. He also received the Rural Healthcare Excellence Award by the Colorado Rural Health Center in 2007 and was the Colorado AHA Grassroots Champion for 2008.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow. He received a bachelor’s degree in management and economics from the University of Tulsa, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a master’s degree in health care administration from Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and General Business from Missouri State University, and a Master of Business Administration from Drury University. He is also a graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff College. He is a General George C. Marshall Award recipient, is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives, is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and is a U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel (retired).
