KHC HIIN Webinar

March 28, 2018
10:00 - 11:00 a.m. CT

Kansas hospitals participating in the KHC Hospital Improvement Innovation Network will come together for a virtual meeting on March 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. CT.

Topic:

Post-Fall Management:  Getting to Types of Falls, Repeat Falls and Determining Preventability

All organizations strive for falls to be “never events” in healthcare.  However,  falls remain among the top adverse events patients experience in our care.

Please join Pat Quigley, PhD, ARNP, CRRN, FAAN, FAANP, for a conversation about getting to causes of injury when patients fall in our care.  Dr. Quigley will share a redesigned Post-Fall Huddle Process and Form to help clinicians discover the sources of injuries so that organizations can plan and implement protective interventions.

During this session,  participants will appreciate the role of a post-fall huddle as a group consensus approach to determine immediate/root cause of the fall.  Dr. Quigley will provide tools for post-fall assessment, case studies for application, and resources to determine preventability. She will also outline a program evaluation model to determine post-fall huddle program effectiveness.
