October 23, 2019
10:00 - 11:00 a.m. CT
Kansas hospitals participating in the KHC Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN) are encouraged to attend our monthly virtual meetings, usually held the fourth Wednesday of each month from 10 to 11 a.m. CT. This month's event will take place Wednesday, October 23, 2019.
Monthly KHC HIIN meetings provide direct access to subject matter experts, peer-to-peer sharing and KHC HIIN project leaders. This also is a good opportunity to stay in the know about the project, progress to date, resources and opportunities in quality and patient safety.
Our featured topic this month will be Antimicrobial Stewardship in Kansas. We will receive an update on Kansas hospitals' progress to date in implementation of the Core Elements of Hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Programs, initiatives underway at the state and national levels, resources available, and next steps. Our guest speakers will be Bryna Stacey, MPH, BSN, RN, program director; and Justin Blanding, MPH, epidemiologist; of the Kansas Department Health and Environment (KDHE) Healthcare-Associated Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance program.
