July 25, 2018
10:00 - 11:00 a.m. CT
Kansas hospitals participating in the KHC Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN) are encouraged to attend a virtual meeting on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. CT. The monthly meetings provide direct access to subject matter experts, peer-to-peer sharing and KHC HIIN project leaders. This also is a good opportunity to stay in-the-know about the project, progress to date, resources and opportunities in quality and patient safety.
This month's topic will be a follow-up to the KHC HIIN Sepsis Champion Workshop, which was held in Manhattan on June 27.
Suzanne Fletcher, Wesley Healthcare sepsis coordinator, and Maryanne Whitney, Cynosure Health improvement advisor, and others will be on hand to continue the dialogue on several topics covered at the workshop that day.
In the evaluations received, several attendees asked for more information and discussion related to sepsis transfer and related barriers. In addition, Maryanne will share what a small group of hospitals learned during the recently completed HRET HIIN SNAP hospital project on sepsis transfers. (SNAP is the acronym for Safety Networks to Accelerate Performance, HRET's voluntary learning networks that address emerging best practices related to HIIN topics.) Maryanne also will introduce the new driver diagram and the transfer tool that was developed as a part of the SNAP, which was co-led by Suzie and Dr. Brent Duran at Wesley Healthcare. You will be among the first to have it!
We also will hear from Michelle Sigmund from the Kansas Foundation for Medical Care. She will introduce a new hospital-specific sepsis readmissions report that KFMC will soon be providing for your hospital.
