April 25, 2018
10:00 - 11:00 a.m. CT
Kansas hospitals participating in the KHC Hospital Improvement Innovation Network will come together for a virtual meeting at 10:00 a.m. CT, Wednesday, April 25.
Topic: "Building skill and will at the bedside"
Hospital-Acquired Pressure Ulcers/Injuries
Please join KHC and your peers, along with Jackie Conrad, RN, BS, MBA, RCC, an improvement advisor for Cynosure Health, in a conversation about preventing hospital-acquired pressure ulcers/injuries. In addition to information about prevalence studies and their value, Jackie will discuss strategies to engage and energize much-needed champions, as well as share ideas for building front line staff skills in preventing and managing pressure ulcers.
In February, more than 50 front-line clinicians from hospitals across the state attended a KHC HIIN Wound Assessment Course, which received outstanding reviews by the participants. We have invited participants to share a few highlights or "pearls" of knowledge they took back to implement in their facilities.
Jackie also will share case studies and creative things that hospitals across the country are doing to address HAPU/I prevention -- from the first week of staff orientation to ongoing clinical education. Valuable online resources also will be shared.
We invite you to include your chief nursing officers, nurse managers and your wound care specialists in this special learning event.
The KHC team also will provide updates on progress to date in the Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN), upcoming events and opportunities.
