Fourth Annual Summit on Quality

The Kansas Healthcare Collaborative is pleased to announce the fourth annual Summit on Quality, scheduled for October 19, 2012 at the Marriott in Wichita, Kansas.

This year we are pleased to have, David Nash, MD, founding Dean of the Jefferson School of Population Health on the campus of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and David Maxfield, Vice-President of research at VitalSmarts. At VitalSmarts, David has led research endeavors on a variety of subjects including the role crucial conversations play in the health care industry.

As in the past, we welcome a variety of participants to the Summit on Quality: physicians, hospital administrators, nurses, quality and risk managers and others who are interested in facilitating a dialogue about clinical quality improvement and patient safety.

Keynote Speakers

David Nash, MD is founding Dean of the Jefferson School of Population Health on the campus of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Nash is a Dr. Raymond C. and Doris N. Grandon Professor of Health Policy; this endowed professorship is one of a handful of such chairs in the nation. His appointment as the founding Dean culminates a nearly twenty-year tenure at Jefferson.

Maxfield_David

David Maxfield is the Vice-President of research at VitalSmarts, an innovative corporate training company that teaches skills which deliver significant improvements to the results companies care about most. He is the co-author of two New York Times bestsellers, Change Anything: The New Science of Personal Success and Influencer: The Power to Change Anything.

Breakout Presentations

Local providers from across Kansas will present on two broad topics; Quality Improvement and Culture and Leadership. KHC will formally request applications for proposals this spring. Six proposals will be selected for breakout sessions.

Poster Presentations

A poster session will provide an opportunity for providers to share best practices in patient care on a variety of topics. KHC will formally request applications for poster presentations this spring. Space will be limited for poster presentations.

Exhibitors

New to the Summit this year, the Kansas Healthcare Collaborative will be offering an opportunity for health care exhibitors to have "face time" with over 200 Summit attendees. Space will be limited. Watch for future exhibit information in the near future.
